I am a yoga teacher based in Devon, where I also grew up. I began practicing and teaching yoga in my late 20’s, having trained in theatre and dance. Yoga fitted nicely around my family life, too, and became a kind of refuge, a place to ‘land’, away from the hurly burly of work and children and constant busy-ness.

Gradually yoga has become a place and time in which to experience space and ease and kindness, a place to re-charge and find rest, to rekindle and energise, a place in which to heal. Like an old friend yoga accompanies me through life and supports me in so many ways..

We tend to live a lot in our heads, in our minds. Spending time cultivating a listening yoga practice can help us slow down, pay attention, play a little - and explore. Through movement and stillness we can renew connection with our bodies, with our breath, and with our relationship to the ground and the space all around us, whatever our experience, whatever our history and whatever our present. The yoga I teach is based on the teachings of the late Vanda Scaravelli, who said

“ ..you will be amazed to discover that if you are kind to your body it will respond in an incredible way ..”

I look forward to sharing some of this practice with you on this special retreat.
