Field Reset
Recalibration Retreats for Frontline Professionals
Prevent burnout and be better resourced at work and in your personal life.
Why invest in a Field Reset?
Because burnout is cumulative, not occasional. Recovery that only happens by accident — a quiet weekend here, a good night's sleep there — isn't enough to offset sustained frontline intensity. A deliberate reset closes that gap.
Because your time at home is limited — and often absorbed by catching up, not recovering. Deployment cycles leave little space to actually decompress before you're back on rotation. A Field Reset protects dedicated time for recovery, separate from domestic or family demands.
Because switching off to get through it has a cost. Frontline work often demands pushing things down to keep functioning — necessary on the job, but left unaddressed it builds into stuck patterns and unresolved issues and traumatic stress that resurfaces rotation after rotation. One-to-one coaching gives you the space to work through what's underneath, not just manage the symptoms.
Because how you return matters as much as how you left. Going back to work depleted costs you — in decision-making, safety, relationships, and how long you can sustain this kind of work. A Field Reset is designed to change what you return with, not just how you feel for a few days.
Because solo, unstructured time in nature does something group settings and short breaks can't. Four days without an agenda, without needing to perform, gives your system the space to properly downshift — not just pause.
Because this work isn't going to get less demanding. If frontline intensity is a fixed part of your career, then recovery capacity has to be treated as seriously as any other part of your readiness.
“I found the 3 day nature immersion experience with Kirstien incredibly profound and long lasting. It was as if the being out in nature pried open my nature allowing me to become more acquainted with, and trusting of who I truly am. She is an incredible guide of this exploration of the interface between inner and outer landscapes. It didn’t feel like the usual arduous therapy work but like letting go”.

What You'll Take Away
A genuinely restored baseline — not just four days off, but a measurable shift in how depleted or ready you feel
Clarity on your own limits — a clearer, more honest read on your capacity, so you can spot the early signs of burnout before you hit it
Less running in the background — space to work through what's been pushed down to keep functioning, including unresolved trauma or conflict where relevant, so it's not still costing you energy when you're meant to be off
A personal recovery practice — something practical you can use during future rotations or deployments, not just during this one reset
Sharper decision-making — space to think without the noise of the operation, ward, set, or site, so you come back thinking more clearly, not just feeling rested
One-to-one coaching support — dedicated time to work through what's actually depleting you, specific to your role and circumstances
A plan for your next return — practical thinking about how you sustain what you've gained once you're back in rotation, not just for the four days
Why work with Kirstien?
I spent years deployed on humanitarian work in countries affected by conflict. I knew, intellectually, exactly what I was supposed to do to look after myself under that kind of pressure — had even trained others in it. Yet when it really mattered I couldn't put any of it into practice. I burned out anyway.
That gap — between knowing and doing — is what's shaped my work ever since. I've spent the years since exploring what actually allows people to keep functioning in adversity, recover from it, adapt, and go on to thrive — not the theory of it, but what's actually happening in the mind, body, and nature that shapes how we experience and respond to intensity in the first place.
I've also lived this from the other side. My husband continued his career in international disaster response and oil and gas decommissioning work — long periods of time away in high pressured environments, returning to the mundanity of "ordinary" life, the same rotation of intensity and return that might have brought you to this page. I've seen first-hand what that work costs, not just for the person doing it, but for the family holding things together around it.
My aim is to close that same gap for the people I work with — helping frontline professionals move from knowing what supports their resilience to actually being able to draw on it, when it matters, in the field and at home.
